Fun with SUSE Studio

Fun with SUSE Studio

There are a lot of desktop Linux distros out there that you can try for free. But have you ever wondered what it would be like to simply roll your own distro? Tech-savvy developers can do this fairly easily, but Joe and Jane Desktop User really couldn’t—until now.

SUSE Studio puts you in the developer’s chair and lets you create your own customized version of desktop Linux. You don’t even need to download software to do it, just visit the SUSE Studio site to get started. You can do everything necessary in your browser—no other tools are required.

You’ll need an invitation to access SUSE Studio, and you can get one in minutes by simply typing your e-mail address into the log-in page.

Don’t worry if you’ve never even thought about creating your own version of Linux. It’s pretty darn easy, and you won’t need to look at a single piece of code in order to do it.

Editor Note: I have signed up for an account, I will keep you posted on how the custom build comes out.
